Iran continues to provide military support to the Russian army for the war against Ukraine.
Iranian personnel are directly helping to attack civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are likely to support the use of kamikaze drones by the invaders, acting as operators and instructors. This is stated in the new report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for February 14.
Iran is said to have smuggled at least 18 long-range drones to Russia. The equipment was delivered to the occupiers with the help of boats and Iranian state aircraft.
The report also states that Il-76 cargo planes associated with the IRGC regularly fly to the Russian Federation, suggesting that Tehran constantly provides Moscow with various materials. It follows from this that the aggressor country continues to rely on Iran for military and technological support in Ukraine, and some Iranian personnel are likely to be in Ukraine, directly supporting Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Recall that the British edition of The Guardian on February 13 reported on the provision of the Russian army with 12 Iranian Shahed-121 and Shahed-129 drones, which have the ability to strike on the ground and are designed to deliver a payload to a target and return to base, in contrast from Shaheda-131 and Shaheda-136.
