The Armed Forces of Ukraine received the German-Dutch Fennek armored reconnaissance vehicles. Footage with these armored vehicles in Ukraine was shown by the Pressure information portal.
No country officially announced the transfer of the Fennek to Ukraine, but the media indicated that five of these vehicles were included in Germany’s latest military aid package under the definition of mobile reconnaissance systems on vehicles (“mobile reconnaissance systems on vehicles”).
Recall that Fennek was developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and the Dutch SP Aerospace and Vehicle Systems BV. It is designed for a crew of three. It is used to detect ground and air targets and additionally comes with a small Aladdin drone for reconnaissance from the air. Serial production of the armored car began in 2001. Now in the Netherlands, 410 such machines are in service, and Germany – 202.
