The head of state fears that the Polish Air Force may “not have enough” aircraft if some are handed over to Kyiv.
Polish President Andrzej Duda said he doubts the possibility of Poland supplying modern F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This was reported by the BBC, referring to the correspondent Laura Kuhnsberg, who was interviewed by the Polish leader.
According to him, such deliveries would be “a very serious decision” that cannot be taken lightly.
Kuhnsberg noted that Duda added: The transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine would create a “serious problem” for Poland itself.
The reason for this is that if the Polish Air Force has less than 50 aircraft, “it will not be enough” for them, the Polish leader explained.
Duda also added that the F-16 fighter requires a full range of services.
In addition, he noted that Poland is a member of NATO and therefore any decision on the supply of fighters should be joint, and not the decision of any one country.
As previously reported, Duda called for a brigade of tanks to be assembled for Ukraine.
