Harpoon and Storm Shadows have a range of over 200 kilometers. These are long-range missiles that Kyiv has repeatedly requested.
Britain is considering the possible transfer of anti-ship missiles to Ukraine Harpoon or air-to-surface missiles Shadows of the Storm. It was reported by the British edition of The Times.
The media, citing their sources in the Ukrainian defense ministry, confirmed that Kyiv is ready to use missiles to strike the Russian-occupied Crimea.
The Harpoon missiles, which cost around £1.2 million each, have a maximum range of 240 kilometres.
Storm Shadow missiles cost more at around £2.2 million. They can fire at targets up to 560 km away, although modified versions for export have a shorter range.
Negotiations are currently ongoing with Britain over how many British long-range missiles could be sent, despite previous fears that allowing Ukraine to launch cross-border strikes against Russia could escalate the conflict.
The publication added that Storm Shadow missiles can be launched from the ground, but they are more likely to be installed on Ukrainian aircraft.
Remember, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that Ukraine will receive the first Challenger tanks in March. According to him, the supply of British fighter jets to Kyiv is also possible.
