Finally, and to save time, the defense ministers of Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark announced the sending of a ship to Ukraine.at least 100 Leopard 1 A5 tanks (…) in the coming months“. The first examples could arrive in April, so sooner than the uncertain Leopard 2. These Leopard 1s, much older than their successors, come from industrial stock and will be refurbished. They were indeed withdrawn from active service with the Bundeswehr 20 years ago, but are still in use in Brazil in their A5 variant.
