Pro-Russian sources acknowledged the heavy losses of the Russian army in an unsuccessful attempt to advance near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.
Dozens of lost tanks and armored personnel carriers are reported. The number of killed and wounded soldiers can be in the tens or even hundreds.
Shot as if in a shooting range, – wrote the ex-leader of the militants of the DPR terrorist group Igor Girkin (Strelkov)
Girkin writes that under Vgledar, the Russian command “exemplarily repeated all the mistakes that had happened before”: “The advance of tank and motorized columns along narrow roads along rare forest plantations of ideally flat terrain (because there are minefields on the sides), not covered from the air and by EW forces, ended in defeat “.
Part of the equipment, according to Girkin, was destroyed by anti-tank missiles (launched from the high-rise buildings of Ugledar), part – by “shooting very accurately” artillery.
Lost, writes Girkin, more than 30 units of armored vehicles, the loss of “two-hundredths” only from tankers – “many dozens”, “marines, special forces and motorized riflemen died even more.”
And most importantly, argues the former Minister of Defense of the so-called DPR, all these losses turned out to be “one-sided”: the Ukrainians “shot the attackers, as in a shooting range.” The Ukrainians, according to Girkin, “again, without much difficulty, held their positions in the fortified area, which they had already tried to take repeatedly in the spring and summer of last year (also“ head-on ”).
Girkin also tells how “usually” “were sent for slaughter in the Donetsk “industrial complex” during the attack on Avdiivka, two companies of assault infantry — battalions of the former people’s militia of the DPR, “without supporting them with either normal artillery fire (which was exceptionally needed), or armor which “Protected from mines”, but it was not possible to clear the area for technical reasons)”.
The unsuccessful attack took place on February 6 and ended with the defeat of the Russian unit. Lost more than 30 pieces of equipment, incl. about 15 tanks, follows from the videos.
Another video from Vuhledar shows the Russian military coming under artillery fire, likely with heavy casualties.
In Russian tg channels, videos from under Ugledar served as a pretext for active criticism of the military leadership.
