In Bukovina on Friday, February 10, a new vehicle checkpoint Dyakovtsy – Rakovets was officially opened. The first car has already crossed the border to leave Ukraine. This was reported by the State Border Service.
The State Border Guard Service reminds that, according to the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Romania, a round-the-clock checkpoint operation for pedestrians, vehicles (including buses), except cargo, is determined . In the first stage, the checkpoint will be opened for the passage of empty trucks and tanks, and later, depending on the creation of the necessary infrastructure conditions, for the movement of other types of vehicles and goods.
“The planned throughput capacity of the checkpoint per day is up to 300 units of vehicles, including 10 buses, 1,550 citizens, including 500 pedestrians. The checkpoint provides six lanes for vehicle registration and a separate lane for to people crossing the border on foot,” the statement said.
It was noted that a separate structural unit of the border guards was created to conduct checkpoint operations at the Dyakovtsy checkpoint. The department’s staff have received appropriate training and are ready to carry out border control of citizens and vehicles. All workplaces for passport control are equipped with computers with access to databases, as well as other means.
The Ukrainian delegation thanked Romania for its support.
According to the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Romania, Mircea Abrudyan, Romania received 3.5 million citizens who tried to go to other countries, and 108,000 Ukrainians who now remain in Romania.
“Romania is ready to continue to support Ukraine. Today’s opening of the checkpoint is proof of this,” he said.
