Nine companies in Iran itself and three more in Singapore and Malaysia were added to the sanctions list.
Representatives of the US Treasury announced the introduction of restrictions against nine companies in Iran, Malaysia and Singapore involved in the illegal sale and transportation of Iranian oil under the embargo against Tehran. This was stated in the message of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC).
“OFAC has imposed sanctions against nine organizations in several jurisdictions that play a critical role in the production, sale and shipment of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Iranian petrochemicals and oil to consumers in Asia,” said the statement.
The restrictions were imposed against six Iranian petrochemical producers and their subsidiaries and three companies in Malaysia and Singapore involved in the sale and transportation of Iranian oil and oil products.
“Iran is increasingly reaching out to buyers in East Asia to sell its petrochemicals and oil in violation of US sanctions,” said US Undersecretary of the Treasury for Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson.
Recall that Iran has modified the attack drones it supplies to Russia so that they can cause maximum damage to infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine.
Legitimate target. As evidenced by the unprecedented drone attacks on Iran
