The Ministry of Reintegration is asking an international medical organization to develop an evacuation mission.
Ministry for Reunification of Temporarily Occupied Territories Appeal to an International Medical Organization Doctors without a license (MSF) with a request to organize an evacuation mission to rescue the Ukrainian defenders Azovstal. This was announced on May 6 by the press service of the department.
It was noted that the Vice Prime Minister – Minister for Reunification of Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk sent a mission leader Doctors without a license in Ukraine, a letter to Michel-Olivier Lacharite, in which he recalled that according to the charter, MSF provides assistance to the troubled population, including victims of armed conflicts.
Vereshchuk emphasized that all in Azovstal are in appalling conditions, and the lack of access to medical care and the aggravation of their physical and psychological condition is a clear violation of Article 55, Section IX, of the Charter of the United Nations.
“Based on the principles guided by MSF, the Ministry of Reintegration requests to develop a mission to evacuate the Mariupol defenders, who are now at the metallurgical plant. Azovstal. Examine their physical and mental condition, collect evidence of the conditions in which they are present, and provide medical assistance to Ukrainians whose human rights have been violated by the Russian Federation, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Recall, on May 6, the UN and the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that since then Azovstalnearly 500 civilians were evacuated from Mariupol and surrounding areas.
Former Deputy Commander of the Regiment Azov Captain Svyatoslav Palamar called on the world community to contribute to the evacuation of the wounded and removal of the corpses of dead soldiers at the plant. Azovstal, which had been stormed for several days by Russian troops.
