Political players in the ruling regime of the Russian Federation continue to participate in the “arms race”, notes the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
Russian monopolist Gazprom Neft plans to create its own private military company (PMC), indicating that an “arms race” between representatives of the ruling regime continues in Russia today. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this on its Telegram channel on Tuesday, February 7.
The order to create a PMC was signed by the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin.
When creating the PMC, the government refers to the law on “security of fuel and energy facilities”, which states that the company has the right to create a private security organization.
“The size of the share of such a business in the authorized capital of the new “organization” cannot be less than 50%,” GUR added.
At the same time, the founders of the organization are Gazprom Neft PJSC with a 70% share in the authorized capital of the “organization” and a “private security organization staff center” with a 30% share, Ukrainian intelligence notes.
Gazprom’s decision to create a PMC following the example of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner demonstrates the continuation of the “arms race” among Russian political forces.
Recall that the United States imposed new sanctions against PMC Wagner and at the same time declared it a transnational criminal organization.
