The restrictions against Russia’s nuclear industry will be valid for 50 years, the SBU notes.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky supported the initiative of the SBU and implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose economic sanctions against the Russian Rosatom and 199 companies that are part of this corporation. The SBU press service reported this on Monday, February 6.
Restrictive measures were introduced for 50 years. They are concerned with all the financial and economic operations of these institutions.
The SBU said that DC Rosatom companies were involved in the “alienation” of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in favor of the occupying country.
The SBU has evidence that employees of Rosatom and related corporate companies are:
-
granted control over technological and management processes at ZNPP;
-
contribute to the connection of the nuclear power plant to the Russian energy system;
-
they are trying to legalize the operation of ZNPP in the Russian Federation by creating fake Russian companies: JSC Operating Organization of Zaporizhzhya NPP and FSUE Zaporizhzhya NPP, included in the structure of Rosatom State Corporation.
It should be noted that Russian occupation groups carried out a forced seizure of the Zaporozhye NPP in March 2022.
It will be remembered that on Sunday, February 5, Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry.
