Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada on the appointment of the head of the National Police, Igor Klymenko, as Minister of the Interior. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Parliament Taras Melnichuk on Telegram on Monday, February 6.
“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered the submission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine DA Shmyhal on the appointment of Igor Vladimirovich Klymenko as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,” he wrote.
As you know, on the morning of January 18, a helicopter with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs crashed in the city of Brovary. All nine people on board were killed, among them Minister Denis Monastyrsky. The total number of victims was 17 people, including four children. 25 people were injured, including 11 children.
Later, the SBU published three versions of the helicopter crash in Brovary.
On the same day, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Klimenko deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and entrusted him with the duties of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
