A new large-scale offensive by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine will begin within the next 10 days.
Ukrainian authorities received “very reliable intelligence” about Russia’s intention to launch a new offensive. The goal of the Russian offensive is the occupation of the entire Donbass. The offensive of the Russian army can begin in the areas of Kremennaya and Liman, where the enemy has been concentrating large forces for several weeks now. This is reported by the British edition of the Financial Times, citing an unnamed adviser to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that the invaders are building up their troops in the south of the Donetsk region, overturning additional forces in the settlements around Mariupol. The aggressor intends to launch an offensive before Ukraine receives Western tanks and weapons. The offensive of the enemy can be led by elite units.
These are real mechanized brigades, even if they are less combat-ready than they were at the beginning of the war. They reinforced the airborne and naval units. These are not bus drivers and school teachers, – the adviser noted.
Meanwhile, the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, said that the Russians could launch a new offensive in the Lugansk region after February 15. Now the enemy is taking more and more reserves to the Luhansk region, in particular, equipment and ammunition, building defensive lines.
Recall that the American Institute for the Study of War stated that the enemy had gathered 30,000 soldiers, militants and mercenaries in the Mariupol direction. However, the offensive of the Russian occupation troops on the city of Zaporozhye is unlikely, because the enemy has abandoned most of his forces for an offensive operation in the Lugansk region.
