The heavy nuclear submarine “Dmitriya Donskaya”, which is the largest in the world in terms of displacement, has been decommissioned from the Russian Navy.
Now this submarine will wait for disposal at the naval base in Severodvinsk. In addition, two other submarines of the same project with the index 941 will be scrapped, according to Russian publications TASS and Kommersant.
It is noted that the submarine “Dmitry Donskoy” was included in the fleet in 1980 as part of project 941. In terms of displacement, it is the largest in the world – 48 thousand tons. For some time the submarine was the largest in size – 172 m long and 23 mm wide.
Recall that the Russian Federation was unable to bring launch vehicles into the Black Sea, because a powerful storm is raging there for five or six points. The enemy was forced to bring Caliber carriers into the base.
