Western countries will clarify information on the supply of weapons in the near future, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry (MOU) believes.
Ukraine’s partners at the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine on Tuesday, February 14, will announce the number of tanks and the timing of their provision in Kyiv. This is what Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Sunday, February 5.
“I have not yet revealed the list of countries (which plan to provide Ukraine with tanks – ed.), because some countries are still making political decisions. I have a feeling that on February 14, when there will be regular meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine, which is not physical in Ramstein, and in Brussels, perhaps, there each country will announce the number and timing (supply of tanks – ed.),” he said.
The official recalled that Canada, Germany, Poland, Britain and the United States have already announced the transfer of tanks to Ukraine.
According to him, first, Ukrainian tank crews will be trained at European training grounds, and then they will go to the battlefield.
Remember, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, in the first wave of aid from Western allies, Ukraine will receive up to 140 modern tanks.
We added that Norway plans to deliver the Leopard 2 tanks promised to Ukraine by the end of March.
In addition, Belgium also intends to buy tanks for Ukraine.
