According to Lecorne, the supply of systems designed to protect the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine from Russian shelling was agreed with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. The number of systems that will provide Ukraine, the minister did not specify.
SAMP-T-Mamba is a ground-based medium-range air defense system designed to destroy ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as aircraft at a distance of up to 100 km.
At the end of September, Ukraine received US-Norwegian NASAMS air defense systems from the United States. These systems operate within a radius of 40-50 km and at an altitude of more than 15 km. They can hit cruise and ballistic missiles, drones and aircraft.
In October, Germany handed over the first of four Iris-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine. The Iris-T SLM anti-aircraft missile system consists of three vehicles: a launcher on a military truck, a radar vehicle and a command vehicle. Anti-aircraft missiles can hit targets at an altitude of up to 20 km and at a distance of up to 40 km.
In addition, the Ukrainian military is already learning how to use American Patriot systems.
