Several hundred people have been evacuated from Mariupol within the framework of the Mariupol humanitarian corridor.
Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk announced a new evacuation from Mariupol, which, according to her, will take place on Friday, May 6. The impending evacuation on Thursday, May 5, was reported on the channel Vereshchuk Telegram.
“Tomorrow, May 6, there will be an evacuation from Mariupol. We are gathering near the Port City shopping center at 12.00,” she wrote.
On Thursday night, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said the third phase of the evacuation of civilians had already begun in the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
He also noted that representatives of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross are conducting a complex operation and coordinating their actions with representatives of the Russian occupiers and the government of Ukraine.
It is learned that after the partial evacuation of civilians, on May 2, the Russian military resumed shelling the territory of the plant. During the fire, they used artillery, aircraft, tanks and warships.
Earlier it was reported that there were 2,000 Russian soldiers in Mariupol: 10 battalion tactical groups of the Russian Federation are located south of the village of Velikaya Novoselka. It is north of Mariupol, northwest of Volnovakha, near the border of the Zaporozhye region.
It was also learned that the occupiers have been taking the residents of Mariupol and nearby communities to the filtration camps for almost four weeks.
