American volunteer, founder of GRM, died in Bakhmut

Former US Marine Pete Reed is 33 years old. A State Department spokesman confirmed the death of a US citizen in Ukraine.

In Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, a volunteer from the United States, Pete Reed, was recently killed while providing aid to the civilian population. This was reported by CNN, as well as the humanitarian aid group Global Response Medicine (GRM).

“GRM founder Pete Reed has died in Bakhmut, Ukraine. Pete was the backbone of GRM, serving as chairman of the board for four years. In January, Pete left GRM to work with Global Outreach Doctors in their mission in Ukraine and was killed during the relief effort,” the GRM said in a statement.

Former US Marine Pete Reed is 33 years old. He began his humanitarian career after Hurricane Sandy hit his home state of New Jersey. Reid also led medical teams in the Battle of Mosul in Iraq, treating more than 10,000 wounded. On the Global Outreach Doctors website, Reed is also listed as a director in Ukraine.

Recall that a Canadian citizen died in the fighting near Bakhmut.

It was also reported that a volunteer from Australia died in the war in Ukraine.
