The Deputy Head of the Central Military Medical Commission of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was exposed on systemic corruption.
The official has established a mechanism for receiving money from citizens of military age. This was announced today, February 3, by the press services of the SBU and DBR.
According to the investigation, the official for various amounts of bribes “offered” men to evade military service under martial law.
DBR gives one of the following cases.
An acquaintance who heads a charitable foundation approached the official. Its employee had to go abroad to search for and deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the ministry’s press service said.
It is noted that the head of the fund did not know the procedure for leaving Ukraine for volunteers and therefore asked the official how to arrange this exit.
The official said that such a departure must be formalized by issuing a certificate of unfitness for military service, which is a lie. He promised to organize the issuance of such a certificate for a “reward” in the amount of 5 thousand US dollars, the DBR notes. – The official received an advance payment of 2.5 thousand US dollars and began to draw up documents, but was exposed by law enforcement officers.
The SBU notes that the bribe was transferred in several parts:
- the fact of the transfer of the first part in the amount of 2.5 thousand dollars. law enforcement documented;
- upon receipt of the second part, law enforcement officers exposed the official at the workplace.
During searches at the place of work of an official and in his household in one of the private sectors of the capital, large amounts of cash in different currencies were found, in general, equivalent to more than 5 million hryvnia.
The person involved was informed about the suspicion in the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code (acceptance of an offer, promise or unlawful benefit by an official). The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.
For this offense, a man faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
All the circumstances of the crime are being established and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
