They are suspected of official negligence when purchasing medical equipment – a digital X-ray machine.

In Kyiv, operatives exposed a criminal scheme for the purchase of medical equipment. This was reported by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.

According to the investigation, the members of the working group under the tender committee, without properly analyzing the market prices, entered the conclusion data on the value of the goods, which was higher than the market price. Subsequently, the head of the tender committee did not properly control the activities of the working group and submitted tender documents, based on which medical equipment was purchased from a private institution at a significantly inflated price. .

As a result of the officials’ improper performance of their official duties, the state suffered damage in the amount of almost UAH 7.5 million.

The deputy chief physician for medical affairs and three heads of departments of the said medical institution were informed of the suspicion of official negligence (part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation continues, the issue of the selection of suspected measures is decided, as well as other circumstances and people who may be involved in the commission of these criminal offenses are established.

For the perpetrator, the suspect may face a prison sentence of two to five years with the removal of the right to occupy certain positions or participate in certain activities for up to three years and a fine of two hundred and fifty up to seven hundred and fifty thousand rubles.
