Kherson region, part of which is controlled by Ukrainian troops, was under heavy shelling on February 2.
The enemy attacked the peaceful settlements of the region 65 times. the occupiers fired from multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, mortars and tanks. As a result of the shelling, two people were killed and nine more were injured. Among the victims was a nine-year-old boy. The child was hospitalized in a state of moderate severity. This was reported by the Kherson regional military administration.
According to the authorities, only the regional center was attacked 13 times. Russian shells hit a shipyard, a school and residential buildings.
The State Emergency Service reported that a large-scale fire broke out in Kherson due to shelling at night, and rescuers are involved in the liquidation of it.
Recall that Kherson remains the most regularly shelled large Ukrainian city outside the Donbass. British intelligence speculates that Russian commanders may be partly intent on sapping civilian morale and deterring any Ukrainian counterattacks across the Dnieper River.
