The SAMP/T air defense batteries that Italy is moving to Ukraine will become operational within the next seven to eight weeks.
The Italian-French SAMP-T air defense system will be deployed in Ukraine in the next two months. This is what Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, Rai News reports.
Tajani said the anti-aircraft missile shield “to protect Kyiv and other strategic areas will be deployed on the territory of Ukraine in the next seven to eight weeks.”
At the same time, the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the international community should strive to protect Ukrainian independence and “work for peace.”
Recall that Italy decided to transfer SAMP/T air defense batteries to Ukraine in mid-January.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and Italy agreed on an energy partnership.
