In particular, the Ukrainians arrived at the Fort Sill military base in Oklahoma in mid-January. Then the Pentagon announced that their training in working on a modern air defense system would last several months. However, according to Kremenetsky, the terms were reduced thanks to the experience of the Ukrainian military.
“The program is really shortened compared to how other specialists are taught, and there is only one reason for this: we send for training specialists who have experience working with air defense systems. You already know the our air defense is now successful in fighting air defense systems. The specialists we sent have experience working with air defense systems, of course, not Patriot, in other systems, but they know the basic knowledge of action, the basics of air defense systems, that is, they do not need to be trained in the basic elements,” said the attaché.
Kremenetsky said that the Ukrainians were trained at a military base, where all American specialists servicing the Patriot systems, as well as specialists from those countries receiving these systems, were trained.
The training program in Oklahoma provides that the Ukrainians will not only quickly master the modern air defense system themselves, but upon returning home they will be ready to become instructors for other military personnel. .
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian military group in Germany began training the Patriot system on Thursday.
