The National Corruption Prevention Agency (NAPC) listed Procter & Gamble as an international sponsor of the war.
This is reported by the Economic Security Council.
The reason for including the company in this list was that the corporation continues to operate in Russia, pays taxes to the budget and contributes to mobilization activities. Evidence for this NAPC was provided by the Economic Security Council (REB).
In March, 2022 P&G announced reduction of assortment in the Russian market of goods for health and hygiene. In August, information appeared that the company was no longer investing in business development in Russia.
However, on the territory of the aggressor country, the household chemicals plant, which is the world’s largest manufacturer of detergents for P & G, and the plant for the manufacture of blades and Gillette razors continue to operate.
The Ukrainian authorities believe that the corporation continues to make money on the Russian market and contribute to the state budget of the aggressor country. In 2021 alone, the company paid about $5.2 million. tax revenues and other payments. The company also provides jobs for about 2.5 thousand Russians.
Following its announcement of reducing its presence in Russia last March, P&G raised the price of its own products in Russia by 40%. Thus, the company tried to reduce the losses from the reduction of the brand line.
P&G also promotes mobilization, because according to Russian legislation, corporations operating in Russia are forced to participate in mobilization activities, facilitate the drafting of employees into the army and finance their military equipment.
REB recalled that Procter & Gamble owns the following subsidiaries and brands:
-
Gillette;
