Representative. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) went after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) over his remarks Sunday on “Meet the Press” that laws could have prevented the killing of Tire Nichols last month in Memphis, Lt.
Jordan, now chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said on the show that he doesn’t know if the reform “can stop the evil” seen in the videos of Memphis police officers repeatedly beating Nichols after a Jan. 7 traffic stop. Nichols, 29 years old. – The father of a one-year-old boy died in hospital three days after he was beaten by the police. Five Memphis police officers have been fired and are facing murder charges.
“I don’t know if any law, any education, any reform will change,” Jordan said.
“The fact that we saw that these people, these five people had no respect for life, and again, I don’t think these five guys represent the vast majority of law enforcement, but I don’t know if there’s anything you can do. to stop the kind of evil I saw in that video.”

Frost, before being sworn into his post, revealed in an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl in early January that a poor credit score affected his ability to rent an apartment in Washington.
The Republican National Committee’s investigative Twitter account cited his salary shortly thereafter and tried to remove Frost, but he was having none of it.
