The European Union intends to coordinate its efforts to restore Ukraine after the end of the war with Russia.
The donor conference in Warsaw, to be held on May 5, should be the starting point in the implementation of the European Marshall Plan for Ukraine. This was stated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel in an interview for Interfax-Ukraine.
“In my opinion, this meeting should be the starting point for some kind of European Marshall Plan for Ukraine. This is exactly what we should do, we should send a strong signal that we will support Ukraine as long as can, “he said.
According to Michel, President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed the idea of †‹вЂ‹ creating a trust fund for Ukraine a few weeks ago. The funds will be used for humanitarian aid, liquidity support and reconstruction of Ukraine. Moreover, the fund should be activated in the near future.
“We will try to make our efforts more coordinated, more massive. That should be the goal,” Michel said.
