Representatives of the local parliament voted for a bill to amend the Criminal Code.
The senators of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus approved a draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code, correcting the approach to the application of the death penalty. This was reported by the local edition of Belta.
In particular, in Belarus they can now be sentenced to death for attempted murder of a representative of a foreign state or an international organization with the aim of provoking international complications, for attempting an act of terrorism using the facilities of nuclear, use of radioactive substances or nuclear materials. , chemical or biological substance and for attempted murder of a statesman or public figure.
It should be recalled that earlier in Belarus the representatives made amendments to the Criminal Code, which provides the possibility to apply an exceptional measure of punishment in the form of the death penalty for attempted acts of terrorism.
