The State Border Service of Ukraine is monitoring the situation on the Belarusian border. Currently, Russian troops are on the training grounds of a Russian-controlled neighboring country, there is no offensive grouping. This was announced during a briefing at the Media Center by the representative of the State Tax Service Andrey Demchenko.
The creation of the necessary offensive grouping, which would be ready as of today to carry out an invasion from the territory of Belarus, is not noted. Russian units in Belarus are at the training grounds where exercises are being conducted or where they are being trained,” he said.
According to him, the redeployment of those units that have already completed training is currently being completed, since the beginning of January, new units have been brought to the territory of Belarus for combat coordination with them, as well as training.
The situation at the border remains fully controlled, although it is tense, the GNSU notes.
Since January 16, military exercises for aviation have been held in Belarus, the end of which was announced for February 1. Demchenko stressed that now the main task is to have a strong defense in this direction.
The enemy is not to be underestimated. We must be ready for the development of any events,” he said.
Along the border line, Ukraine has built up defensive positions, work continues on engineering and fortification.
