In Ukraine, from February 1, the procedure for paying additional monetary remuneration to the military personnel of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will change.
This is stated in the joint statement of the Security and Defense Forces.
We are talking about the application of a new approach to the payment of 30 thousand and 100 thousand hryvnias, introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 28, 2022 No. 168.
It is noted that the amount of additional monetary remuneration to the military directly involved in hostilities does not change. The same applies to the families of prisoners and missing persons – payments of remuneration in the amount of 100 thousand hryvnias are also preserved for them.
The announced changes will affect exclusively military personnel and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who are outside the combat zone in different regions of Ukraine, conscripts and cadets of universities, officers of departments and headquarters, as well as some other categories, the statement says.
It is noted that now all military personnel, including conscripts and cadets, in different regions of Ukraine receive an additional monetary reward in a fixed amount of UAH 30,000.
At the same time, fighters who, risking their lives, perform tasks in combat areas, but do not directly participate in battles with the enemy, receive absolutely the same additional payments – 30,000 hryvnias, the statement says. – In this regard, the issue of differentiating the amount of remuneration depending on the place, conditions and characteristics of the service has become ripe.
In addition, in order to increase the level of social protection of military personnel and members of their families, from February 1, the monthly (basic) monetary allowance (without additional remuneration) of military personnel will be increased so that its minimum level:
- for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the GNSU, amounted to at least 20 thousand 100 hryvnias;
- for private and commanding staff of the State Emergency Service and police officers of the National Police – at least 17 thousand hryvnia.
