People’s Deputy “Servant of the People” Alexander Trukhin on January 30 did not appear at the meeting of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, which was supposed to hear the case of bribing policemen at the scene of an accident.
Trukhin’s lawyer said during the broadcast of the meeting that his client, on a business trip abroad, was engaged in “strengthening the defense capability.” He handed over the relevant documents to the court, but asked the judges not to name the country to which Trukhin left, “for security reasons.”
The business trip will last from January 30 to February 12 inclusive, but Trukhin left on January 27. The lawyer did not provide documents on registration of a business trip, because they do not exist. He offered to bring them to the next meeting.
VAKS postponed until February 15 a meeting on charges of deputy Trukhin in connection with his business trip abroad.
In early January, the deputy accused of corruption did not go to court because he allegedly was ill and was on sick leave.
Earlier, Trukhin was seen in a photo from the place where the bodies of dead volunteers were handed over to Ukraine. Then he was engaged in unloading humanitarian aid in Kherson. In April 2022, Trukhin founded a charitable foundation named after himself, which has 18 subscribers on the telegram.
