The Russians are forming powerful lines of defense around the airfield in temporarily occupied Berdyansk.
Defense Express analyzed satellite imagery from Planet Labs on January 27th. They testify that the entire airfield along the 15-kilometer perimeter received defense lines consisting of trenches, trenches and separate positions, including shelters for equipment. In addition, anti-tank gouges are installed in front of the trench line. The so-called “Wagner pyramids” are installed in three rows. As of January 27, about 30% of the airfield was already surrounded by them.
The rashists have long turned this abandoned airfield into their own base for helicopters and continue to use it.
Elements of the main line of defense in the images are marked in red, in blue – anti-tank bulges, the installation of which is in the process, in yellow – the previously created inner defense perimeter.
Defense Express believes that the Russians have much bigger plans for the airfield than just using it as a forward helicopter base.
Airfield images taken on January 27 show 9 aircraft, of which 8 can be identified as helicopters, and one (highlighted in green) is quite similar to a Forpost-type UAV. Also, the activity of ground personnel and equipment was noticed at the airfield.
