The Czech Republic, led by the new president Petr Pavel, who won the recent elections, will continue to support Ukraine.
This was announced today, January 29, on Pavel’s Twitter page.
Pavel today had a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who congratulated him on his election, thanked him and the Czech people for their unflagging support for our state, and invited him to Ukraine.
I would like to thank President Volodymyr Zelensky for his congratulations on the results of the presidential elections in the Czech Republic and for the invitation to visit Kyiv. In our telephone conversation today, I assured him that Ukraine can continue to rely on the support of the Czech Republic,” Pavel said.
Pavel announced today on CNN Prima that he plans to visit Ukraine together with his Slovak counterpart Zuzana Chaputova in the spring of 2023.
According to him, the idea of such a joint trip came about by chance – both planned to make such a visit.
She said that it was like telepathy, that we seemed to exchange opinions,” Pavel noted.
He added that the visit will take place at the NATO summit, which is scheduled to be held in Vilnius in July 2023.
Pavel also confirmed his intention to continue military support for Ukraine and prevent Russia from winning.
The path to greater security for all is a return to normal life, the restoration of Ukraine as a sovereign state,” he stressed.
