The Security Service of Ukraine detained collaborators from the Luhansk region who tried to get a job in Ukrainian state institutions.
The counterintelligence of the special services prevented the penetration of enemy henchmen into local government bodies in the border regions of Ukraine. Two former “officials” who worked for the enemy in the territories of the occupied Svatovsky and Belokurakinsky districts of the Luhansk region were detained. This was announced on January 28 by the press center of the SBU.
It turned out that the attackers ended up in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, having received the status of immigrants from the east of Ukraine. One of them tried to settle in the regional division of the Pension Fund, and the other to join the finance department of one of the district military administrations near the border with Russia.
During employment, they could gain access to classified information and later transfer it to the invaders. The perpetrators were caught and apprehended in time. Investigators have already informed both defendants of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Recall that in Sumy, the SBU prevented the undercover penetration of the enemy into state authorities. The FSB agent was given the hostile task of getting a job at the Department of Defense Work of the OVA and covertly collecting secret information about the region’s defense system.
