France: prestigious university bans the use of artificial intelligence

One of the most famous universities in France today announced a ban on the use of gpt chat tool or any other type of tool artificial intelligence (AI).

It’s about Paris Institute of Political Studiescommonly known as Sciences Po, founded in 1872 and one of the main centers of learning for the French political and administrative elite.

Director Research training institutionSergey Guriev announced to students and faculty in an email that the use, without explicit mention, of ChatGPT or other AI tools is “strictly prohibited for the creation of written or oral work by students.”

Sciences Po authorizes the use of these tools for “individual use” only. pedagogical and hosted by a professor,” the university said in a statement on Friday.

SANCTIONS

He added that in the event of a violation, students could be subjected to sanctions that they could achieve “expulsion from the center and even from higher educational institutions.”

The institution explains that ChatGPT raises big questions in education and research “about fraud in general and plagiarism in particular” and that “he is concerned with ensuring the quality and integrity of his teaching and his degrees.” (EFE)
