Isaac Trakhtenberg is an academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the title of Honorary Professor of educational and scientific institutions, is an Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, a winner of the State Prize in Science and Technology of Ukraine and the AA Bogomolets Prize.
“For almost 50 years, he not only led the scientific team of researchers in occupational medicine and preventive toxicology, but also cherished and multiplied the scientific traditions of our Institute,” the report said.
Isaac Trakhtenberg was born on November 11, 1923 in Zhytomyr. In 1941 he became a student at the Kyiv Medical Institute.
In 1948, the Republican Anti-Epidemiological Commission was appointed and authorized to carry out anti-epidemic measures in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Kyiv. In 1951, Trachtenberg received the degree of candidate of medical sciences. For the next four years, he worked as an assistant in the Department of Occupational Health at the Kyiv Medical Institute. And until 1982 – professor of the department.
In 1956, Trachtenberg received the academic title of assistant professor. And in 1964 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences. In 1966, the scientist received the academic title of professor.
