In 2022, the income of the Russian banking sector will reach 203 billion rubles, and in 2021 this figure will be 2.4 trillion rubles.
The income of the Russian banking sector last year fell 12 times: in 2022 it reached 203 billion rubles, and in 2021 – 2.4 trillion rubles. The Russian edition of Kommersant writes about this, citing data from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
According to the Russian Central Bank, last year the banking sector was able to cover losses in the first half of the year and turned a profit, but the profit was lower than a year before.
“Profits were significantly reduced compared to the record result of 2021, when banks earned 2.4 trillion rubles. At the same time, losses in the first half of 2022 exceeded 1.5 trillion rubles, mainly due to the reevaluation of money. However, in the second half of the year, the sector showed a monthly income, which in December reached 342 billion rubles,” wrote the Russian edition.
It was also reported that in the entire sector, only Sberbank reported financial results, its revenue reached 300 billion rubles.
In addition, it was noted that some credit institutions ended the year with significant losses, but the share of profitable banks in terms of assets reached 77%.
Recall that in the spring of last year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the nationalization of the assets of Russian banks.
