Sweden will allocate about $2 million for the IAEA mission in Ukraine

Strengthening the agency’s work to support the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants is an urgent issue, they said in Stockholm.

The Swedish government has pledged more than $1.9 million to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to support the nuclear safety mission in Ukraine. This was reported on January 26 by CNN.

“As a result of Russia’s aggression, we have seen several attacks near nuclear power plants in the past year, which pose a great risk. It is an urgent matter,” said the Swedish Minister for International Development and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell.

Recall that on January 26, IAEA experts located at the Zaporizhzhya NPP announced strong explosions, indicating military operations near the facility.
