The regiment of the Special Operations Forces “Azov” is expanding – now it is the third separate assault brigade as part of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The combat path of the battalion begins on Bakhmut.
The volunteer detachment of territorial defense “Azov” was formed on February 24 and participated in the battles for Kyiv and the Kiev region. Later, the unit was reformatted into the Azov MTR, which worked in the Zaporozhye, Kherson and Donetsk directions.
MTR “Azov” expands into a brigade. Now we are the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our updated banners symbolize the burden of the traditions of Ukrainian statehood: from princely times, the time of the Cossacks, the first liberation movements to the present, the press service of Azov says.
The evolution of the Azov unit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue.
