The United States has declared the so-called “Putin’s private army” – PIK “Wagner” a transnational criminal organization. Now, 12 companies and six people associated with the Wagner PPK have been sanctioned. The US Department of the Treasury also included top Russian officials in the updated sanctions list, in particular, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnikhanov.
Declaring Wagner a transnational criminal organization means freezing any U.S. assets of the group and prohibiting U.S. individuals and entities from providing funds, goods, or services to the group.
Washington recalled that the “Wagnerites” are involved in serious criminal activities, in particular, war crimes and crimes against humanity – mass executions, rape, kidnapping of children and physical violence in different countries of the world – among other things, in the Central African Republic, Mali, Syria, Libya.
Sanctions will be applied against Russian companies Terra Tech and BARL, Chinese Changsha Tianyi Space Science and Technology Research Institute Co. LTD and its Luxembourg representative office Spacety Luxembourg – they provided the “Wagnerites” with satellites and aerial photographs for military operations in Ukraine.
