court Kenya found former Venezuelan diplomat guilty Dwight Sagarey and three Kenyan citizens about the assassination of the interim ambassador of Venezuela Olga Fonsecafound dead at her residence in Nairobi in July 2012.
At Wednesday’s hearing, Kenyan Capital High Court Judge Roselyne Korir said: sagaray had a hostile relationship with fonsecasince both wanted to head the Venezuelan embassy in KenyaThis was reported today by local media.
This conflict led to sagaray kill Fonseca, the judge concluded after hearing evidence from about 37 witnesses, many of whom were embassy employees.
The fights between them were so intense that the staff of the diplomatic mission had doubts about who was in charge of it.
“I have determined that their claims are credible. They talked about what they saw and experienced. They are not interested in siding with either side,” Korir said, quoted by local media today.
“It is clear that the first defendant (sagaray) resisted Mrs. fonseca take charge of the embassy,” added the justice of the peace, who is responsible for analyzing almost forty pieces of evidence in the case.

Korir also found Kenyans Ahmed Omindo, Alex Sifun and Moses Kiprotich guilty of aiding a former diplomat in the murder.
The court found that the three met up to four times in Nairobi to plot the murder. fonsecafor which they were able to pay 486,000 Kenyan shillings (about 3,580 euros).
The meetings also included another well-connected Kenyan citizen, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, a fugitive from justice who was never caught, although a warrant for his arrest remains in place.
