Russia in the battles for the city of Soledar in the Bakhmut direction lost as many people as in two wars against the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
The speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, said this on the air of the national telethon, Liga.net reports.
He stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine left Soledar in an organized manner and occupied the defense lines prepared in advance.
The exit was not chaotic, everything was organized and secret, Cherevaty emphasized. – There was not a single panic, encirclement and mass surrender. Fierce battles continue there, in the Soledar area there were 85 shellings and eight clashes per day.
According to him, in the Bakhmut direction, fighting is taking place in the area of Verkhnekamensky, Disputed, Razdolevka, Blagodatny, Bakhmut and Kleshchievka.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding the enemy’s blow – there were 199 shellings in this area during the day,” Cherevaty said. – In the Soledar region, the Russians lost as much as in the two Chechen wars. Mobilized remained the last resource, thanks to which they maintain at least some offensive momentum.
