Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the launch of a worldwide fundraising platform in support of Ukraine. On Tuesday, May 3, he said at a government meeting.
“This is a fundraising platform to support Ukraine as part of the United24 global project initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Everyone in the world can donate and help Ukraine fight for our freedom. We want the world to unite in support. of our state, ordinary people, charitable foundations, international companies, opinion leaders around the world, ”the prime minister said.
He mentioned that it is necessary to create such a platform to show maximum transparency and openness in the use of the proceeds.
Shmygal specified that the fundraising process will be as transparent as possible. At the same time, the National Bank will report daily on the collection of funds, and all ministries will show the public their reports on where exactly the funds were directed.
“Deloitte in Ukraine, which is part of Deloitte’s international network, will review the reporting of ministries and guarantee the transparency of the platform,” Shmyhal assured.
The head of government stressed that the funds raised from the platform are planned to be used for three purposes. First: defense and demining, second: humanitarian and medical assistance, as well as assistance to children, third: restoration of Ukraine, restoration of critical infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals, restoration of communications, supply water, etc.
Also, according to the head of government, the future plan for the restoration of Ukraine will have two levels – regional and parametric.
“The region is when partner countries or twin cities, or corporations have assisted in the restoration of a particular Ukrainian city or region. For example, Denmark has agreed to assist in the restoration of Nikolaev, Bergamo in Italy – in Bucha restoration.The parametric approach is a program of the National Council for Restoration, which develops parameters for the restoration and transformation of each sector of the economy.It is new strategies and policies, modern and European.The aim is not just to rebuild the destroyed, but to build a modern, European, civilized, developed state, “he said.
