Megan Markle’s animated series for Netflix has been canceled. The deadline was reported on Sunday.
The streaming platform has “quietly dropped” the cartoon “Pearl,” a project allegedly named after the Duchess of Sussex under Archewell Productions, which she founded with Prince Harry. Confirmed by the Los Angeles Times Move.
The family series, co-produced by Markle with David Furnish, centers on a 12-year-old girl who has been influenced by strong women throughout history.
“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl will soon discover herself as she struggles to cope with the changes in daily life,” Markle said in the summer of 2021.
Sources at Deadline said Archewell’s documentary series “Heart of Invictus” is still “leaking” on Netflix.
Netflix received a financial blow last month when it announced that it lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022.
