Ship full of people sinks off Japan coast – Bloomberg

The cargo ship sank 110 kilometers west of the outlying Danjo Islands.

The Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship Jin Tian sank southwest of Japan. According to Bloomberg on Wednesday, January 25, efforts are currently underway to rescue the 18 crew members.

Several coast guard boats were dispatched to assist the sinking, as well as an oil tanker that passed nearby.

According to NHK, there are 14 Chinese nationals and 8 Myanmar nationals on board the cargo ship. Four people were also reported rescued. In addition, it is known that the crew was able to sail in lifeboats, but how many survivors are not known.
