On Wednesday, January 25, the German Bundestag will consider the possible delivery of Leopard tanks from Germany to Ukraine.
The website of the German parliament states that this issue will be considered at the request of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, which wants to “end the leopard blockade of the federal government” and fears a loss of confidence in the federal government among the allies.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has allegedly already decided to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, writes Spiegel.
We are talking about at least a tank company – this is from 10 to 14 vehicles. APU will receive the Leopard 2A6 version.
Other allies, in particular from Scandinavia, are also ready to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 main battle tanks, the newspaper writes.
The German government intends to give permission for the export of tanks belonging to other states, such as Poland.
It is reported that the decision will be officially announced on Wednesday. Perhaps this will happen at 13:00 Berlin time – Scholz is currently scheduled to speak in the Bundestag.
In addition, an interview with ZDF is scheduled for the evening.
