Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinskiy was likely fired from his position as one of the key commanders of Russian forces in Ukraine. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense on the morning of January 24th.
British intelligence suggests that this is due to disputes over the use of Russian paratroopers, since they were often used to contain ground targets, which was traditionally done by mechanized infantry.
Teplinsky’s sacking is likely another symptom of ongoing divisions in the top hierarchy of the Russian operation as General Valery Gerasimov tries to impose his own authorities on the campaign in Ukraine, the UK Defense Ministry said in a tweet.
Recall that earlier British intelligence reported that with the advent of command, Gerasimov first of all decided to restore order with routine discipline in the army, and this causes lamentation.
