The administration of US President Joe Biden has provided the Chinese government with evidence that some Chinese state-owned companies are assisting Russia in military operations against Ukraine. The influential American publication Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources.
The sources did not provide any other details, except that this assistance from Beijing to Moscow is of an economic, as well as non-lethal military nature and allows them to evade sanctions imposed on Russia.
US officials raised the issue with their Chinese counterparts and warned of the implications of China’s material support for Russia’s war effort.
People who know the opinion of the White House described the activities of state-owned enterprises in Beijing as “conscious assistance to Russia in its military operations.”
Currently, the Biden administration is convinced that the Chinese government wants to help Russia and is not neutral, as it claims publicly.
Recall that recently China has deepened its trade relations with the aggressor country and fundamentally rejects any sanctions against Russia. Last year, China’s imports from Russia grew by almost 50% compared to 2021.
