The Russian army may launch offensive operations in the coming months, including in the spring. This was reported by analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to experts, citing Ukrainian intelligence data, Russian troops are preparing for an offensive operation in the spring or early summer of 2023. This partly confirms the ISW’s assessment that Moscow intends to carry out a decisive offensive in the coming months.
In addition, the Kremlin continues to deepen military and economic relations with Iran in a mutually beneficial evasion of sanctions. On January 23, the head of the Russian Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, met in Tehran with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Ghalibaf noted that countries should strengthen ties in the financial, energy and commodity sectors.
In addition, sources in the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also suggested further military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
