Businessmen who set up a fake acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship were detained in Kyiv.
This was announced today, January 23, by the press service of the SBU.
It is noted that the dealers introduced themselves as employees of the SBU and offered their “assistance” to foreigners in obtaining a Ukrainian passport. To do this, they promised to use what seemed to be their own “connections” in law enforcement agencies. The cost of such a “service” was 10 thousand dollars.
It was for this amount that the gang members “guaranteed” the registration of Ukrainian citizenship for a Russian woman who had the form of temporary residence on the territory of our state. To be “persuasive,” the attackers presented the Russian citizen with a fake “service certificate,” the SBU notes.
Attackers were detained during the transfer of the first part of the money for the “passport”. It turned out that the detainees were two residents of the capital, one of whom was prosecuted for attacking a policeman.
An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offense.
