Tallinn approved the next and largest military aid package to Kyiv with a total value of 113 million euros.

Estonia is boosting military aid to Ukraine and wants to set a precedent that doesn’t leave other countries any reason to withhold support. This was announced on January 23 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with reference to the Estonian ambassador in Kyiv, Kaimo Kuuska.

“We are giving all our 155 mm howitzers to Ukraine. And we want to create a precedent in this way so that other countries do not have reasons why they cannot give Ukraine the necessary weapons to win the war,” the diplomat stressed.

It was noted that the government of Estonia adopted the next and largest package of military aid to Ukraine so far with a total value of 113 million euros, which includes:

  • dozens of 155 mm FH-70 and 122 mm D-30 howitzers;

  • thousands of artillery shells of 155 mm caliber;

  • hundreds of anti-tank grenade launchers M2 Karl-Gustaf with ammunition;

  • means of supporting artillery units.

Thus, total military aid to Ukraine is more than 1% of Estonian GDP.

In addition, Tallinn will continue to provide both basic and specialized training to members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We are also grateful to our allies who joined the Tallinn Declaration and pledged to jointly seek an unprecedented range of grants, including main battle tanks, heavy artillery, air defense equipment, ammunition and combat vehicles. Together we will support Ukraine,” the Estonian embassy stressed. in Ukraine.

Recall that on January 19, nine European countries signed the Tallinn Declaration, which contained a commitment to large-scale military aid to Ukraine. The document was signed by the defense ministers of Great Britain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, as well as representatives of Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

It was previously reported that Estonia plans to create a legislative framework by the end of January that would allow the transfer of frozen assets of the Russian Federation to Kyiv.
